The Ethereum network reportedly bypassed Bitcoin in terms of active addresses. Since the beginning of this year, this figure has grown by 145 percent. During the same time, the number of active addresses of the BTC payment system increased by only 13 percent.
According to Messari analysts, at the moment the number of active addresses in the Ethereum system has reached the level of 567829. At the same time, the level of active addresses in the first largest payment system, BTC, with a small growth rate, is 745665.
The first period of a sharp decline in the activity of electronic wallets in the Ethereum system occurred in March this year due to a sharp drop in the value of the ETH cryptocurrency, which reached $ 111. The next decline in activity falls on June this year and is associated with the increased popularity of the DeFi sector.
Glassnode experts report that the Ethereum network is ahead of Bitcoin in terms of commission. At the same time, according to the BitInfoCharts press center, the average value of the commission for the ETH system is $ 0.253, which is two times less than that of the BTC, which was $ 0.503.
It is also worth recalling that in June of this year, miners received high income from commissions in the Ethereum system. And according to Messari, 99 percent of all commissions received by miners come from Bitcoin and ETH.
